OUR 100th ISSUE! Classic Toy Trains celebrates its 100th issue with special CTT-staff written stories on collectible postwar and prewar trains that use the numbers "00", the 10 best new toy train products for less than $100, and a double fold-out centerspread showing all 100 magazine covers. AN O GAUGE LAYOUT WITH REAL WATER: Doc Colvin of Pittsburgh, Pa., included a river with flowing water and a moving steamboat on his colorful toy train layout. WIDE-ANGLE COLLECTION: Prewar and postwar toy train collector Fritz Von Tagen of Portland, Ore., took photos for Lionel catalogs of the late 1980s and early ’90s. HOW TO REPLACE A TRACTION TIRE: CTT staff member Jim Riccioli explains how to replace a torn traction tire on a steam locomotive. A LAYOUT WITH EVERYTHING: Ed Hyland of Waterbury, Conn., has built a layout with a little of everything: Lionel Super O track, American Flyer S gauge, and even HO trains. O GAUGE SCALECRAFT 4-6-2 STEAMER: Decades after it was produced, David Bloor of Homeworth, Ohio, built a sharp-looking 3-rail ScaleCraft Pennsylvania steam locomotive kit.
